60 Years: Treasures from Our Vault - Grand Opening

An Exhibition Celebrating the 60th Anniversary of the Dundas Museum and Archives

This year the Dundas Museum and Archives celebrates its 60th anniversary with an exhibition, 60 Years: Treasures from Our Vault. The display will feature a variety of objects carefully selected from the Museum’s collection by more than 80 participants from the Museum and the community of Dundas. This exhibition opens to the public in the Museum’s feature gallery on the evening of March 17th and welcomes visitors to explore the vault’s treasures until June 4th 2016.

Since opening its doors in 1956, the Museum has collected over 16,000 artifacts—everything from tools to toys—thousands of photographs and archival documents that include historical records such as letters, diaries ledgers and books”; a cross-section of which will be seen in 60 Years.

A few of the objects that will be featured are music devices, toys, photographs, everyday household items, sports equipment, historical fashion and a giant 18th century tapestry.

Everyone is welcome to the Museum for the opening reception of this exhibition on Thursday, March 17 from 5:00-9:00pm.

The exhibition runs from March 17 to June 4, 2016. Admission is by donation.
