Contemporary Art Opening - BLUR

 

BLUR – A contemporary art opening by Olivia Brouwer. January 31, 2-4pm. Snacks and drinks to be served.

Olivia is a student artist from Hamilton, Ontario. She is currently enrolled in her third year of the Art and Art History joint program at the University of Toronto Mississauga and Sheridan College Institute of Technology.

Olivia received the Paper Place Award and the D.L. Stevenson Award for academic excellence in printmaking and painting in November, 2013. She has been awarded the Painting 2 Award in November, 2014. These awards are distributed by the Sheridan faculty for the Art and Art History students with academic excellence.

Olivia’s work was featured in the Hamilton Spectator in 2012, along with other students from Hamilton District Christian High School. She was awarded an Honourable Mention at the Edinburgh Square Heritage and Culture Centre for entering exceptional artwork for the annual Juried Art Show in May, 2014. Her work was featured in Sqew at the Erindale Theatre at University of Toronto Mississauga with her painting class in November, 2014. She also participated in the In The Round II exhibition at the Graven Feather Gallery in November, 2014. Olivia is anticipating her next solo exhibition at the Hamilton Public Library in July, 2015.

Blur, at the Dundas Museum and Archives, is Olivia’s first solo exhibition.
