Meet the Odd Fellows of Lodge No. 117 at their official community curator exhibit opening and recognition of this years’ anniversary of 200 years of the I.O.O.F. in North America. It will be held at the Museum on Thursday, June 13 from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
The Independent Order of Odd Fellows (I.O.O.F) is a worldwide fraternal organization devoted to the principles of charity, philanthropy, and community betterment. Dundas has a long tradition of Odd Fellowship reaching back to the early years of the community. Clubs and societies were a popular means of making connections, socializing, and contributing to the welfare of the community. The current organization of the Dundas Odd Fellows in the Valley City Lodge No. 117, which received its official charter from the Grand Lodge of Ontario on July 10, 1873, has played a leading role in the community affairs ever since.
