Fashion to the Future
Dundas Fashion from 1960 to 2000
Feature exhibition March 17 – June 2, 2018
What’s in your closet? Do you have a piece of clothing, a hat, shoes, or accessories that would have been the height of fashion in the decades between 1960 and 2000?
Our next feature exhibit will explore fashion trends worn in Dundas between 1960 and 2000. The museum is home to a fantastic fashion collection stretching back to the late 18th century. However, the decades after the 1960s are not as well represented.
The museum is inviting local residents to participate in a community curated exhibit – lending more modern pieces to the museum which capture the late 20th century. The exhibit will allow visitors to discover what fashions were worn in Dundas during this time period and how clothing is often dominated by larger global trends. This exhibit is part of a series of exhibitions that the museum has curated over the last three years. These previous exhibits covered fashion between 1790-1900 and 1910-1960.
