Now on display in the Pirie House of the Dundas Museum and Archives is Home/Ground: The Art of Catherine Gibbon (1949-2021), which features a selection of pieces from the late artist. Catherine Gibbon worked out of her studio at the top of the Niagara Escarpment in Greensville but also travelled to capture a variety of scenery in chalk pastels and oils. Gibbon was a founding member of the Carnegie Gallery in Dundas, and started the plein air painting group, the Monday Painters.
Stop by to see the show, and join us for an open house on Saturday, November 4th, from 1pm-4pm during Arts Dundas Weekend, featuring the Mountain Road Band, a traditional Celtic music group Gibbon played flute/whistle in.
