Accessibility
The Dundas Museum & Archives strives to ensure that all visitors have a comfortable and enjoyable experience.
Entrance
The rear Albert Street entrance features a gradual ramp and a button-operated door. Once inside the Museum’s atrium, an elevator is available for visitors to access all levels of the facility. Should you require assistance, a staff member will be glad to help.
The Park Street West entrance has two steps, each seven and a half inches high.
Parking
If you require accessible parking, please call ahead to reserve these spaces. Otherwise, there is ample 2-hour street parking around the Museum.
Experience
The Museum is generally a quiet space, with no music. When we have groups of children visiting the galleries, it can become a bit loud, but otherwise, voices tend to be lowered. The Education Centre, which doubles as an art exhibit space, is also regularly rented for group events which can increase ambient volume (but rarely interferes with the other gallery spaces).
In 2020 the Museum’s ventilation was updated with a HEPA filtration system.
Please visit our online tour for a preview of our spaces.
Assistive Devices
A courtesy wheelchair is available in the atrium for guests’ use. For more information, call us at 905.627.7412.
In the event of a planned or unexpected disruption to services or facilities, the Dundas Museum & Archives will notify visitors promptly. There will be a clearly posted notice, which will include information about the reason for the disruption, its anticipated length of time, and a description of alternative facilities or services, if available.
If you have any questions or concerns, please call us at 905.627.7412
