See you at the Cactus Festival!
Say hello to the Dundas Museum team at the Cactus Festival. Our booth will be set up in Memorial Square on August 17 and 18 from 10am – 4pm with antique fire trucks and an exhibit of the festival’s history.
Women and Beer Talk
Join members of Queen of Craft, Lindsey Mrav cofounder of Grain & Grit Brewing Co. and the ladies of Shawn & Ed Brewing Company as they talk about the history of women in brewing on July 18 at 7pm.
Did you know the first still license in the area was granted to early settler Anne Morden? Women have always played a significant role in the creating, selling, and consuming of beer and liquor. Come and hear about the roles women occupy today in the industry and culture and the integral ways women have developed to the rich tavern heritage of the region. Admission includes a souvenir glass and samples of the beers discussed in this talk. Everyone welcome.
A portion of the proceeds from this talk will be donated to Interval House of Hamilton, a provider of emergency shelter, safety planning and support services for women with or without children that have experienced abuse or violence.
Tickets are $25 for general admission or $20 for Friends of the Museum Members.
