Notice: Our Re-Opening Has Been Rescheduled to August 3
The Dundas Museum and Archives will re-open to the public on Fri. August 3 with updates to all three upper galleries, including a new feature exhibition, Finding Your Way: Our History in Maps. The opening has been delayed an additional two weeks, (previously July 20) in order to accommodate necessary changes in our construction schedule.
With these renovations, the Museum has made necessary infrastructural improvements to expand our exhibitions and program offerings. With the acquisition of five custom Community Curator exhibit cases and the addition of an upgraded Wi-Fi network, we are better able to share the stories of Dundas using new and innovative technologies. Our focus is on energy efficiency, accessibility and laying the groundwork for future projects.
The main exhibition will take you on a journey through the Valley Town, from the time of the glaciers’ carving out the valley through to the modern day. The main galleries will showcase the unique development and vibrant culture of our town. The displays provide context to each rotating feature exhibition, illustrating where this narrative fits into the broader history of Dundas.
“The Museum has a stunningly wide array of artifacts in our collection, covering a great amount of time. Because of these important updates, visitors will always have something new to see at each visit. So, if you haven’t been to the Museum in a while, it’s time to come back,” said Exhibitions Coordinator Austin Strutt. Including military relics, beautiful fashions, the development of the railway and more; there’s something to interest everyone.
