Item consists of a sepia cabinet card. James Ross was born in 1854 and died in Dundas in 1907. He came to Dundas on the advice of Dr. Osler and took over Dr. D.G. Inksetter's practice when Inksetter went to Costa Rica. Dr. Ross was chair of the Board of Education, President of the Curling Club, and President of the Rifle Association.
