There are several ways to include the Museum your Will
- Specific Bequest: A gift of cash, securities, or specific property.
- Residual Bequest: A gift of what remains after taxes, expenses, and family gifts. This option adjusts automatically as your circumstances change.
- Contingent Bequest – Takes effect only if a specified event occurs (e.g., if a spouse does not survive you).

Sample Wording for your Will
Specific, Unrestricted: “I give, devise, and bequeath to the Dundas Museum & Archives the sum of $______ to be used for any purpose approved by its Board of Directors.”
Specific, Restricted (with clause to vary): “I give, devise, and bequeath to the Dundas Museum & Archives the sum of $______ to be used for the following purpose(s): ________. If the Museum is unable to apply all or part of these funds for the stated purpose(s), the Board will redirect the gift to a purpose as close as possible to the original intent.”
General % of Residue, Unrestricted: “I give, devise, and bequeath to the Dundas Museum & Archives ___% of the residue of my estate to be used for any purpose approved by its Board of Directors.”
